Posting a catch

After a catch, you can post it to the public feed with its photo. A caption is optional, up to 500 characters. Each catch can be posted once, and you can post 30 times a day.

Post a card within 12 hours and a stock catch within 7 days. After that its photo is gone, and it can’t be posted.

Posting makes that photo public. A post shows:

• the photo and your @handle;
• for a stock catch, the stock, the amount and its dollar value; a card shows the SNAP mark;
• the landmark’s name; a stock catch away from landmarks says “On the street”, and a card says “A card drop”. Never coordinates;
• your caption, likes and comments.

It never shows your full wallet address.

You can delete your post at any time. Its likes and comments go with it, and the photo becomes private again. You can delete your own comments too.

Likes and comments

Tap to like or unlike. Comments are up to 500 characters. You can like 1,000 times and comment 200 times a day.

Reporting a post

You can report someone else’s post as:

• Not a real snap
• Offensive or unsafe
• Shows someone’s private info
• Spam

You get one report per post and 20 a day, and you can’t report your own posts. You’ll see “Thanks. We look at every report.”

When enough players report a post, it is hidden right away while it’s reviewed: “This post is hidden now while we take a look.” While hidden:

• it leaves the feed, player pages and city boards;
• its photo stops being served by SNAP at once, though a copy someone’s browser already loaded can stay visible there;
• it can’t be posted again;
• its owner still sees the photo in their binder.

After review, SNAP can restore the post, or stop a profile from posting and commenting.

The weekly board

“This week” means the last 7 days, rolling, not a calendar week.

• Players rank by the dollar value of the stock they caught, at catch time. A catch whose payout ends as Not sent adds no stock value; it still counts as a snap.
• Ties go to more snaps (all catches, cards included), then to whoever made their first catch of the week earlier.
• Every catch counts, posted or not.
• The top 50 show. If you rank 51st to 100th, your own row appears below them. Your rank this week is always on your player page.
• The board updates at most once a minute.

City boards

A city board counts only posted catches at that city’s landmarks, because the place of an unposted catch stays private. The city list shows the 24 cities with the most posted snaps this week.

Player pages

Tap a @handle to open a player page. It shows:

• their rank this week (#N);
• their snaps this week;
• the dollars of stock they caught this week;
• a grid of their posted catches, 20 at a time, with Show older posts.

It shows only what they posted. Unposted catches and their wallet address never appear.

Once a catch is posted, Share on X opens a post like this:

Snapped 0.0147 $AAPL at Apple Fifth Avenue. [link to your post] $SNAP

A card shares “Snapped a card drop. [link to your post] $SNAP”.

Sharing earns nothing. $SNAP on X is also Snap Inc.’s cashtag, so the link is what tells people which SNAP you mean.
