Wallets

Sign in with a wallet to catch stock drops. Signing in is one signature. It sends no transaction, moves no funds and approves nothing. SNAP only reads your wallet’s $SNAP balance.

What you sign

The message names the site, your address and “Chain ID: 4663” (Robinhood Chain). It says:

Sign in to SNAP with this wallet. This is a signature only: it sends no transaction, moves no funds and approves nothing.

The request expires in 5 minutes. SNAP never asks you for a transaction, a token approval or a network switch. If anything claiming to be SNAP asks for one, don’t sign it.

A sign-in lasts 30 days in that browser. Right after you sign in, the app shows the holder rule once, with your wallet’s status.

Only regular wallet accounts can sign in. Smart-contract wallets can’t sign in yet; use a regular (EOA) account.

Ways to connect

  1. A wallet in this browser. A browser extension on a computer, or a wallet app’s own browser on a phone. One tap.
  2. Open in MetaMask or Open in Coinbase Wallet. On a phone without a wallet in the browser, this reopens SNAP inside that app’s browser.
  3. A pairing code. Sign in with a code on a phone, or Use your phone wallet on a computer. The browser you play in doesn’t need a wallet.

Signing in takes about three taps.

Which browser

Play in Safari or Chrome.

The built-in browsers of X, Telegram, Instagram, Facebook, LINE, TikTok and KakaoTalk often can’t use the camera or location. SNAP asks you to switch before it asks for either:

  • on iPhone, tap ••• or share, then Open in Safari;
  • on Android, the link opens Chrome.

You can also copy the link, or try there anyway.

Wallet app browsers such as MetaMask and Coinbase Wallet are not blocked. If the camera or location doesn’t work there, open SNAP in Safari or Chrome and sign in with a pairing code.

Signing Safari in with the wallet on your phone

  1. In Safari, tap Connect, then Sign in with a code. A 6-character code appears, like K7Q-2MX. It works once, for 3 minutes.
  2. Tap Open in MetaMask or Open in Coinbase Wallet, or copy the link into another wallet’s browser. The wallet shows the same code: “Only continue if this code is on your own screen right now.”
  3. Check that the codes match, then sign. The message you sign names the code.
  4. Back in Safari: “Is this your wallet?” with your address. Tap Yes, that’s my wallet.

Heads up

Only sign for a code on your own screen

Never sign for a code or link someone sent you. It would sign their browser in as you.

A browser signed in by code sees less. If your wallet already had a SNAP profile, that browser sees the photos, places and card drops only of what it caught itself, and can post only its own catches.

Your other browsers show a notice (“Your wallet signed in another browser with a code…”) with Sign out everywhere. Signing in with the wallet directly in that browser lifts the limit.

Signing out

  • Sign out on this browser: in your binder.
  • Sign out everywhere: ends every session of your profile. It is offered after a pairing notice.
  • Guests have no sign-out, because signing out would lose their cards.

Your public name

A wallet profile’s handle comes from your address: an address that starts 0x7a01c3f2 gets the handle wallet_7a01c3f2. Its name is your short address, like 0x7A01…C3F2.

Your handle appears on your posts, comments, the board and your player page. The short address is the label screen readers hear for your avatar. There is no rename.

Your handle shows part of your address

Your full address is never shown, but its first and last characters are: the start in your handle, and both ends in your name.
