Who gets stock

Card drops are open to everyone. Stock drops go to wallets that hold the $SNAP minimum, measured from a daily snapshot.

The minimum shows here in $SNAP and in dollars.

The rule

Your wallet qualifies when both of these are true:

  1. Its lowest $SNAP balance since the last snapshot is at least the minimum.
  2. Its balance right now is at least the minimum.

The snapshot is the last block before 00:00 UTC, taken every day. Buying or receiving $SNAP never raises your lowest balance. So:

  • $SNAP you buy during the day counts from the next 00:00 UTC.
  • If you drop below the minimum after the snapshot, you’re out until the next 00:00 UTC, even if you buy back.
  • Moving $SNAP to another wallet gives that wallet nothing until the next snapshot.

SNAP reads your balance fresh when you catch, and again when the stock is sent. If it has fallen below the minimum by then, the catch stays a card, or the payout ends as Not sent and the stock stays in the vault.

Launch day

On launch day there is one extra snapshot, 30 minutes after $SNAP is connected to the vault. Wallets holding the minimum at that snapshot qualify for the rest of that UTC day.

Before that snapshot, nobody qualifies, and no stock drop opens. So stock drops, and the first stock catch, start about half an hour after $SNAP is connected to the vault. From the next day on, the 00:00 UTC snapshot applies.

What the app tells you

  • Qualifies now (after you sign in) or Stock drops open to you (in your binder): you can catch stock drops.
  • Qualifies at 00:00 UTC, with a countdown: you hold enough and are waiting for the next snapshot.
  • Not holding enough SNAP yet: your wallet is below the minimum.

Daily limits

Each wallet has limits per UTC day. They reset at 00:00 UTC.

The catch that takes you past the value limit is sent in full. After that, you’re done with stock until 00:00 UTC.

Every catch, card or stock, counts toward the all-catches limit. Once you reach it, you can’t catch stock drops either until 00:00 UTC, and no new card drops appear.

A payout that ends as Not sent doesn’t count toward your stock limits. It still counts as a catch. Your binder shows today’s counts.
